Interesting facts about this project:

- When faced with the challenge of constructing a durable, wind resistant, wellinsulated
school in the winter weather of the Colorado mountains located at 7900 feet, just over the Continental Divide from Denver), County School Board selected Insulating Concrete Forms.

- Officials in the school district were in favor of the ICF building system from the beginning, according to Ben Zastrow, school district construction manager. Zastrow noted that after a short learning curve for the builder, winter construction could continue with a small crew through below zero temperatures.

- After analyzing the cost of heat per square foot, the school’s principal estimates that the ICF walls will save the school more than $500,000 in heating costs over the next 30 years!
